With the evaluation period quickly coming to an end, the Gators coaching staff is out trying to see prospects one last time.
One of the prospects Florida visited recently was Tuscaloosa (Al.) Academy athlete Torrence Brown.
“Coach (Brian) White came by to see me last week one day,” Brown said. “It went really well even though he couldn’t talk to me. He did talk to my coach and he asked him to let me run some routes during our water break so he could see me perform. He told my coach that he liked me a lot and that I performed well out there.”
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Brown has been in constant contact with several members of the Gators coaching staff recently.
“I talk to coach White, coach (Jon) Haskins and coach (Derek) Lewis from Florida,” Brown said. “They all tell me that they want me to come down for a camp in June so that coach (Will) Muschamp can see me in person. They also tell me that my name keeps popping up in meetings with the other coaches and that they all like my highlight tape.”
Brown says that when he visits Florida this summer, he will have a couple of friends in tow with him as well.
“I know that me and Bo Scarbrough are coming down together,” Brown said. “I think Bo’s cousin is coming with us too. I’m excited to get down there and visit Florida.”
For Brown, he also plans to visit Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Mississippi State this summer and says that nobody stands out to him at this point in his recruitment.
