2015 OL picks up Florida offer

 |  March 18, 2013  |  0 Comments

Will Muschamp and his coaching staff are some of the hardest working recruiters in the country and are always looking ahead.

Last week the Gators offered 2015 Reisterstown (MD.) Franklin offensive lineman Pat Allen.

“Coach (Brad) Lawing offered me last Monday,” Allen said. “I’ve only been playing football for two years so this is a big chance for me from a great school and to get a chance to attend there is great. Florida is a winning team and a big name school so to have the opportunity to potentially go there is nice.”

When Brad Lawing called Allen’s high school coach and gave Allen the phone he was surprised at what happened next.

“My coach said hey and threw me the phone,” Allen said. “When I said hello and coach Lawing told me who he was it threw me off guard. When he offered me I was shocked to be offered so early in the process. I always watch Florida on TV and I like the way they play on offense.”

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Allen says that he has been impressed with the new offense that Florida runs under Brent Pease.

“I really like the style of play they run,” Allen said. “They said I would fit in great there because I’m a good pass protector and a good run blocker that can pull. I want to visit Florida sometime this summer and see the campus and the atmosphere for myself.”

So far this is Allen’s third offer, with Rutgers and Virginia also offering the talented sophomore, who is originally from Missouri.

Allen says he is also receiving heavy interest from LSU, Miami, Georgia and would like to hear from Missouri since he is from there.
