Why the Gators will watch LSU-Towson
There are not a lot of must-see college football games this Saturday as the fifth weekend of action steadily approaches. There are a few rivalry games in the Big Ten that no longer carry any national significance and Ole Miss does not stand a chance against Alabama, but, more specifically, this weekend is drawing yawns because the 4-0 cardiac Gators aren't scheduled to make another one of their ever-entertaining second half comebacks.
However, members of the Florida coaching staff will be watching something, at least.
The No. 3 LSU Tigers will be hosting a Towson program that will be playing against only its sixth FBS game in its history and its first matchup against a nationally-ranked opponent.
While of course coach Will Muschamp and his two main assistants, offensive coordinator Brent Pease and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, will not be watching to see if LSU can add another victory to its school-record, 40-game nonconference regular season win streak, they will be taking substantial notes on a few important aspects of how the Tigers execute their desired game plan.
