Coach Will Muschamp, after pulling an unbelievable recruiting coup in bringing in the first- and third-highest rated high school quarterbacks in the country two years ago, had been dealing with the headache of choosing one over the other for the last two years.

Following months of practice in which neither of the two were able to gain any real separation from the other, Muschamp played both in the team's week one victory over Bowling Green. He knew, as well as anyone in the country understood, that the situation was untenable and could not be continued.

Thus, Muschamp quickly named a starter, and touched upon plenty of issues plaguing a Florida team looking to take the next step and return to the SEC's elite.
