UF’s Bryant Young nominated for HOF

Florida Gators defensive line coach Bryant Young soon may have even more of a reason for his players to look up to him.

The former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle was among 13 first-year eligible players nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame this past week. Young spent his entire 14-year career with the 49ers.

Young, who’s from Chicago Hieghts, Ill., was the seventh overall selection in the 1997 NFL Draft after being named an All-American as a senior at Notre Dame, where he was a three-year starter.
