The Gators not only grinded their way to a 26-21 victory against the Commodores Saturday, but they were penalized just three times for 17 yards.

“I know it’s been a lot of stuff about us being young and undisciplined,” starting safety Matt Elam said. “Coach (Will) Muschamp is very hard on that trying to make us more disciplined, and basically just sticking together is the big thing. Being more disciplined and growing up is basically what it is.”

Florida was not the team to make a key penalty late in the game, either. That distinction belonged to Vanderbilt this week.
