ShareUF notes: Quinn wants fast start
After limping to a 7-6 record in 2011, the 2012 season is nearly upon us. That means one thing to the Florida Gators coaching staff, now in their second year under head coach Will Muschamp: A return to elite status.
For defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, obviously, that starts with his unit. There are high expectations after finishing eighth in the nation in total defense a season ago, but they will not have an easy go of things, of course. Bowling Green's quarterback, Matt Schilz, is a junior with over 5,000 passing yards to his credit.
While Quinn was complementary of the opposition's quarterback, he'd love to see his guys producing sacks right from the very first snap.
