Through the first week of fall camp, players and coaches alike have continued to toe the company line that there is an open competition at every position.

Whether it is the quarterbacks, wide receivers or linebackers, players are still battling for more reps and more time on the field.

At no position does that appear to be more true than the defensive backs. While it can be said with a level of certitude — barring injury — that Matt Elam and Josh Evans will start at the two safety positions, the two cornerback spots appear to be open for competition.
