UF Football Notes: Gilly keeps quiet

Even though the Gators fans in attendance for Florida’s 14-6 victory against LSU on Saturday walked out of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in a joyous state, it would be understandable if more than a few left feeling quite beguiled as well.

After years of seeing highlights of the Boise State Broncos and their imaginative play calling, some fans perhaps expected the Gators to break out more “statue of liberty” or a “hook and ladder” plays after it was announced Florida would be hiring former BSU offensive coordinator Brent Pease.

However, what fans got on Saturday — and have gotten all season —was a relentless pounding of the football, right into the teeth of arguably the nation’s best defensive front.
