UF football notes: Enjoying a team win
By Alex Gray
After a maniacal crowd in Neyland Stadium had their hopes dashed for an eighth straight year, and as the Gators danced their way through the warm night air on Rocky Top, Florida fans everywhere had finally caught a glimpse of the true potential of the program under Coach Will Muschamp’s watch.
Last week, Coach Muschamp told reporters that the Gators needed to play the way they did in the opener against Bowling Green in order to have the success they did against Texas A&M. The lesson from Bowling Green was simple—keep running the ball no matter what. In front of a raucous crowd in College Station, Texas, the Gators learned how to keep their composure, and overcome a deficit on the road. On Saturday night in Knoxville, the Gators took lessons from their previous two contests and applied them soundly en route to a 37-20 victory in front of more than 102,000 desperate fans.
