The legendary Al McGuire called it “cut the head off the snake.” That’s basketball lingo for taking the most important player out of the game with the defensive game plan. It’s the same philosophy that the Florida Gators are seeing on the football field this year as teams are scheming to stop the Gators’ dynamic duo of Heisman Trophy quarterback Tim Tebow and all-planetary wide receiver/tailback Percy Harvin.
