This spring, Florida finds itself with the luxury of returning standouts and depth at linebacker. That’s a rarity in Gainesville. The defending national champions will take the field on Sept. 5 against Charleston Southern with nine returning linebackers, including all three returning starters from a year ago. The Gators will feature an experienced two-deep led by first-team All-American middle linebacker Brandon Spikes, and the 2009 defense has to be one of the best in Florida history.
