Florida head coach Will Muschamp said the biggest problem for the Gators is consistency, and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn echoed his comments when asked about areas the defense needed to improve.

One reason Quinn said the defense has struggled playing consistently throughout games is the lack of depth on the team.

Without a whole lot of capable backups, the starters haven’t been pushed quite as hard as Quinn would like.

“I think the thing when you have that depth sometimes, that competition where you’re looking over the shoulder a little bit more is something all clubs are striving to get,” he said. “From a depth standpoint, sometimes it allows you to play more players when they gain the experience.”
