Stamper one of six who survived
Ryan Stamper often thinks about some of the guys who were part of that 2005 recruiting class, hastily assembled in one month by Urban Meyer, who barely slept for a month after finishing off a magical 12-0 season at Utah by beating Pitt in the Fiesta Bowl. The day after the Fiesta Bowl, Meyer hit the recruiting trail hard and came up with a class of 18 players, headlined by US Army All-American receivers David Nelson and Nyan Boateng along with two of the five best players in the state of Florida, linebacker Jon Demps and cornerback Avery Atkins, and junior college All-American safety Reggie Nelson.
