Spikes suspended for half against Vandy

Franz Beard - Managing Editor  |  November 2, 2009  |  5 Comments

Urban Meyer announced Monday that Brandon Spikes will miss the first half of Saturday’s game with Vanderbilt (7:15 p.m., Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, ESPN2) as punishment for unsportsmanlike actions in Florida’s 41-17 win over Georgia. Video surfaced immediately after the game of Spikes with his hands inside the face mask of Georgia tailback Waushan Ealey. Once the Florida coaching staff got a good look at the film, Meyer determined that the appropriate punishment was suspension for half of Saturday’s game.
