Southeastern Conference commissioner Mike Slive's made Tuesday's opening comments at Southeastern Conference Media Days at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Ala.

Slive kicked off the three-day event and spoke about this being his 10th year speaking at what he said was described as a "small press conference" for SEC Media Days.

He also spoke about the past, present and future of the SEC. Here are some of the highlights:
