SEC Media Days kickoff Tuesday
Hundreds of media members will pile into the Wynfrey Hotel ballroom and conference meeting rooms this week for the three-day blitz known as Southeastern Conference media days, which begins Tuesday in Hoover, Ala. Coaches from all 14 schools will be joined by three players from each team for a round of interviews with print and broadcast media. Florida Gators football coach Will Muschamp will kickoff Wednesday's slate at 9:30 a.m.
Tuesday opening session begins at 2 p.m. with South Carolina and Texas A&M. Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier will appropriately take the mic first at media days. He will be followed by Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin, who is sure to field dozens of questions about joining the SEC.
Tuesday’s second session features the other new face of the league with Missouri coach Gary Pinkel likely to receive the same questions as Sumlin. Vanderbilt coach James Franklin will be up next and he’s sure to be asked about getting the Commodores pointed in the right direction heading into his second season. He guided a team that won two games in 2010 to a .500 regular season (6-6) in 2011.
