ShareRagin’ Cajuns rue missed upset bid
Heading into Saturday’s game, Louisiana-Lafayette coach Mark Hudspeth guaranteed his players would have a chance to knock off Florida if they took care of the ball.
Through nearly four quarters, the Ragin’ Cajuns (5-4, 3-2 Sun Belt) were able to accomplish that goal in a 27-20 loss to the No. 6 Gators (9-1, 7-1 SEC).
With 13:11 left to play, Louisiana-Lafayette had Florida on the ropes and playing without its starting quarterback. The Gators — who are a win away from going undefeated in The Swamp for the first time since 2009 — trailed the Sun Belt Conference's fourth-place team by a touchdown on homecoming.
