Florida held its annual media day on Friday, making several players available for the media to talk to before the team heads into the heart of fall practice leading up to the 2011 season.

The Gator Country staff was on hand to meet with players and talk about their expectations for the upcoming football season under new head coach Will Muschamp

Gator Country’s Tim Casey caught up with cornerback Moses Jenkins and asked him about a variety of topics, including his thoughts on a young and inexperienced Florida secondary.

Q: How does it feel to be back for your last season?

A: I’m ready to get started. It seems like a long time since the bowl game, but I’m ready to get started.

Q: How much will the defense focus on getting turnovers?

A: A lot. Fumbles, strips, interceptions — we need a lot to win games. It’s real big.

Q: How are you helping the less experienced players on the defense?

A: I talk to them, I show them film, whatever it takes. Because our young guys, they really don’t know what it’s going to be like (on Saturdays), so I try to go and show them film or talk to them about it.

Q: How do you want to close out your career at UF?

A: As a champion, but I want to have fun with these guys. I love all these guys, offense and defense. I just want to win.

Q: Did you ever think you would be one of the older players on the team?

A: I didn’t, but it’s alright. I like it.

Q: Is the secondary a weakness for the team this year?

A: No, we’re good. We’re alright now because we had five or six guys come in.

Q: Is the secondary not getting the respect it deserves?

A: We love doubters. We love doubters. We love doubters.

Q: Why?

A: Because we get to prove them wrong.
