Florida coach Will Muschamp would love for the Gators’ punt return team to duplicate the punt team’s effectiveness.
Sophomore Kyle Christy’s field-position-flipping punts have been the difference in games, especially this past Saturday’s 14-6 home win against LSU He had a career-long of 61 yards and also had punts of 57, 53 and 51 yards. It was the first time in his career with four punts of 50-plus yards in a game.
Christy leads the Southeastern Conference by averaging 46.5 yards per punt heading into No. 4 Florida’s game at Vanderbilt at 6 p.m. on Saturday. He’s had nine punts of 50 yards or more and placed nine of his 24 attempts inside the 20-yard line.
