On a day when his North Marion High classmates likely were trying on tuxes, Latroy Pittman was trying to get out of bounds.

The January enrollee muscled his way through a pair of defenders to reach the sideline and stop the clock with nine seconds remaining in the first half of the Gators’ Orange & Blue Debut, which concluded Florida’s spring football practices.

Pittman’s eight-yard reception was not as eye opening as his 43-yard catch earlier in the half, but the strength and savvy he showed on that play was sensational— especially for freshman playing in front of the largest crowd (it was announced at 38,100) of his life.
