Part II: Anatomy of a game plan
It’s all about the matchups in the Florida version of the spread offense. When offensive coordinator Dan Mullen formulates his game plan the goal is to exploit the weaknesses in the opponent’s defense. There is no better way to exploit than with speed and with his 2008 version of the offense the Gators will have more speed at the skill positions than perhaps any team in the country. Any team that can’t match the Gators stride for stride is in danger of seeing games get out of hand quickly and turn into dial-a-score affairs. It’s Mullen’s job to put his players in the right place at the right time so the Gators can light up the scoreboard.
