PALM BEACH GARDENS --- It's all business at Dwyer High School this week. Preparations are well underway for a FHSAA Class 4A State Championship on Saturday (1 p.m., FS Sports), as the Panthers hope to bring home the a title for the first time in school history. A big reason for Dwyer's success this season has been the stellar play of running back/defensive back Matt Elam, who has already earned Gatorade Player of the Year honors for the state of Florida while helping lead the Panthers to a 13-1 record. Elam has also been a long-standing verbal commitment to the Florida Gators, and despite a seemingly roller coaster ride throughout the process, is ready to enroll at the University of Florida in January and suit up in the Orange and Blue when he gets to Gainesville.
