Florida Gators quarterback Jeff Driskel left Saturday’s 27-20 win against Louisiana-Lafayette and the biggest question following the game was “How bad is it?”

Muschamp said during his appearance on "Breakfast with the Gators” on Sunday that he didn’t think it was too serious, but the sophomore’s status for Saturday’s 1 p.m. game against Jacksonville State remains in doubt.

“Jeff Driskel’s ankle is probably doubtful for this week,” Muschamp said during his meeting with the media on Monday.

Muschamp plans to get Driskel on the practice field by Wednesday, but if he cannot practice, then sophomore Jacoby Brissett will be “the guy.”

Brissett battled Driskel for the starting job through the first game of the season. He led a game-tying touchdown drive against the Ragin’ Cajuns and Muschamp sounds confident in his backup quarterback’s ability.

He also said a different quarterback will not change the offensive game plan.

“We’ll run what we run and who we are,” Muschamp said.

Muschamp said Driskel’s ankle is a sprain. He said he still has swelling on it and it’s “a little black and blue.”

“Right now, they just think he would be doubtful for the game. Man down, man up,” Muschamp said. “He’s in a walking boot right now. That’s precautionary.”
