With an extra week to prepare for a nationally-televised showdown against No. 3 LSU on Oct. 6, the Florida coaching staff has been evaluating what the Gators have and haven’t been doing well so far during the season.

While it is still considered early in the 2012 campaign, anyone who has paid attention to the Gators believes a number of players have already made significant improvements from Game 1 until now. Fans and coaches alike are always excited to see a true freshman new to campus making an impact, but equally as satisfying is seeing a player who has taken a little longer to pan out finally turning the proverbial corner.

After originally committing to Tennessee out of high school, Florida linebacker Michael Taylor saw his stock dramatically increase after receiving the co-MVP award at the 2010 Under Armour All-American Game. Despite being undersized, Taylor, who is listed at 6-foot, stood out on a field featuring a number of the nation’s top prospects.
