Matt Patchan may not have come to the University of Florida thinking his future was on the defensive line, but the way he has been playing he may never go back to offense. The surprise of Florida’s spring practice, Patchan continues to play a disrupting role whether he’s lined up at end or tackle. He’s got the most explosive first step of any of the defensive linemen and he has become a nightmare for Florida’s tackles, all of whom have whiffed more than once when lined up across from the freshman from Tampa.
