The Florida Gators football team has opened the 2012 season with a 4-0 record for the second straight year. The positive vibes around the stadium and around Gainesville are palpable. As coach Will Muschamp has pointed out, the four wins thus far feel a lot sweeter, and a lot more indicative of a championship-caliber squad, than those of last season.
By this time last year, the team had beaten three creampuffs in Florida Atlantic, Alabama-Birmingham and Kentucky.
By this time last year, Will Muschamp was trying to bounce every offensive play outside the tackles with tiny speedsters Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps, to varying degrees of success.
Fast forward to 2012, and the Gators are already 3-0 in SEC play, having beaten a rowdy Texas A&M team, a ranked Tennessee squad, and of course, stompin’ all over Kentucky.
