As soon as the ball was snapped, Jon Bostic read the play perfectly.

The Florida Gators linebacker mirrored South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw’s every move as Shaw shuffled to his left along the line of scrimmage.

On option plays, one defender is responsible for the quarterback while another is responsible for the running back — the pitchman.

On this play, Bostic’s responsibility was the quarterback, and he successfully forced Shaw to pitch the ball to about three yards before the line of scrimmage.

Mission accomplished, correct?

Not so fast Gators fans.
