Gillislee earns LSU’s respect

Florida's Mike Gillislee rushed for a pair of touchdowns and 148 yards, including 112 in the second half, in Saturday's 14-6 win against LSU. / Gator Country photo by Wes Hall

The LSU defense dominated the first half of Saturday's game by allowing only 47 total yards.

However, it was a completely different story for the Florida offense in the second half as the Gators were able to impose their will on the LSU front seven. The Gators gained 176 yards on the ground and 160 of those yards came in the final 30 minutes en route to a 14-6 victory.

Senior running back Mike Gillislee was at the heart of the rushing attack, racking up 146 yards on 34 carries. It’s just another game on the list of a breakout season for Gillislee.
