Gators move up in both polls

A convincing 38-0 win against unranked Kentucky on Saturday was enough to move the Florida Gators up three spots to No. 11 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll.

Florida has started 4-0 for the second consecutive season under coach Will Muschamp and the Gators are 3-0 in Southeastern Conference play.

The past two seasons saw the Gators peak in the polls after 4-0 starts. In 2010, they topped out at No. 7 and they were No. 12 in 2011. Both win streaks were halted by Alabama.

Fortunately, Alabama is no longer Game 5 on Florida’s schedule, although seeing No. 3 LSU up next isn’t much of a relief. Florida has a bye next Saturday before hosting the Tigers on Oct. 6.
