Three games into a season is when the redshirt picture gets a little clearer in terms of what signees will contribute or are likely to redshirt.

Of the 43 Gators listed on the participation chart from Saturday’s 37-20 win at Tennessee, eight were members of the Florida Class of 2012, a consensus Top 5 class nationally that saw the Gators enroll 22 of the 23 players signed.

Newcomers who played Saturday according to the official participation chart were junior college transfer Damien Jacobs and true freshmen Antonio Morrison, Brian Poole, Dante Fowler Jr., Latroy Pittman, Matt Jones, DJ Humphries and Jonathan Bullard. Only seven have seen action in all three games. They are Jacobs, Morrison, Fowler Jr., Pittman, Jones, Humphries and Bullard. None of those players are expected to redshirt, of course.

In addition, true freshman Kent Taylor, Marcus Maye, Jessamen Dunker, Rhaheim Ledbetter and Raphael Andrades have been on road trips, with Andrades, Dunker and Ledbetter making it to both road games, but not "officially" being listed as playing. Those three still are eligible for redshirts, but could play if needed. Just to note, Andrades has been seen playing in the past two games for sure, but does not appear on the participation chart, which is done during the game and often is amended after film study.
