Because fans can be analytical to the point of becoming critical and cynical six days per week about their favorite team, GatorCountry.com will highlight something to be thankful for about Florida Gators football each Sunday.

OK, so the headline on this may be a little alarming, perhaps even contradictory. How can “Brantley’s injuries” and “Gators Blessing” even be uttered in the same breath?

Here’s how: When John Brantley was knocked out of Florida’s 38-10 loss against Alabama with a high ankle sprain, it pretty much knocked out the Gators’ chances of competing at a high level for the rest of 2011.

However, his injury resulted in true freshmen quarterbacks Jacoby Brissett and Jeff Driskel gaining meaningful game experience, which certainly can be viewed as a blessing heading into the 2012 season.
