ShareFSU whiffed big on ‘track star’
With the Gators stumbling to their second straight sub-standard season at just 6-5 heading into the final game of the season, the future is uncertain for the Florida program.
One major reason for those struggles is the lack of NFL-caliber players on the roster.
Offensive coordinator Charlie Weis said Tuesday there’s at least one player whose future at the next level is pretty certain: running back Jeff Demps.
“I think anyone who runs that fast, you can’t ignore it,” Weis said. “You can’t coach speed. When you can run that fast that immediately puts you in the discussion in everyone’s draft room.”
