Florida’s Christy up for Ray Guy Award

The nation’s top punter is up for an award for the nation’s top punter.

Florida Gators sophomore Kyle Christy, who leads the nation with a 47.9 yards per punt average, has been named a candidate for the Ray Guy Award. The list of 69 candidates was announced by the Augusta Sports Council on Friday.

Christy is the reigning SEC Special Teams Player of the Week after setting a school record with an average of 54.3 yards per punt in last Saturday’s 44-11 win against South Carolina.
