Florida Gators: Purifoy’s Block Party

Loucheiz Purifoy is so fast he didn’t even have to dive.

The Florida Gators playmaker launched off of the line of scrimmage like a rocket and barely brushed hips with the guy supposed to block him before he blocked a punt that turned into a game-winning touchdown return by Jelani Jenkins in the 27-20 victory against Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

For his efforts, Purifoy was the clear choice for the SEC Co-Special Teams Player of the Week honor, which the league announced Monday. The No. 6 Gators (9-1 overall, 7-1 in SEC play) go for their 10th win in their final home game of the season against Jacksonville State at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
