Florida Gators: History in the Sugar Bowl

After storming into Tallahassee to come away with a commanding 37-26 victory against Florida State on Nov. 24 — combined with No. 1 Notre Dame taking care of business against Southern California hours later — the Florida Gators became a likely candidate to play in the Sugar Bowl.

On Sunday, No. 3 Florida received confirmation it would indeed be heading to New Orleans. The Gators will play No.21 Louisville on Jan. 2 at 8:30 p.m.

Coach Will Muschamp has his team much improved after a shaky first year that saw the Gators finish just 7-6 after beating Ohio State in the Gator Bowl.
