Florida Gators football: ‘Special’ teams

Special teams have played a crucial part in the success of the Florida Gators football this season. The Gators (6-0 overall, 5-0 in Southeastern Conference play) are No. 2 in the latest BCS standings heading into a 3:30 p.m. kickoff against No. 7 South Carolina at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Sophomore punter Kyle Christy has been at the forefront of the special teams' success.

Christy, who has gotten the Gators out of more than a few tough situations with his long punts, has been especially valuable. Christy is sixth in the nation with 46.41 yards per punt and more than 225 yards per game.
