Gators ‘bully’ LSU with heavy set

Florida offensive coordinator Brent Pease was reluctant to share the name of the Gators’ heavy, power packages, but he explained the philosophy behind it.

“A lot of that is [UF offensive line] coach [Tim] Davis,” Pease said Tuesday. “He just likes getting big guys out there. … You know what they say, ‘Mass kicks ass,’ so that’s our theory behind it.”

Pease explained that further, talking about how putting seven offensive linemen on the field at the same time creates mismatches while surprising defenses. The Gators simply are able to bully defenders out of the set.
