ShareFlorida Gators: Battle for back-up QB begins
With back-up Jacoby Brissett out of the picture, the rest of the Florida Gators’ quarterback situation is a little out of focus. Essentially, Brissett leaving means a battle for the back-up job is beginning.
Jeff Driskel will remain the starter heading into spring practices and into the fall, barring injury. With a mobile quarterback, that always is a concern.
If the junior-to-be is injured, it will force the Gators to go to an inexperienced signal caller because no other quarterback has even thrown a college pass. Counting Driskel, there will be six quarterbacks — and one former quarterback — on campus competing for second-team snaps in the fall of 2013.
