ShareFlorida crisp in 2012 Orange & Blue Debut
If Florida fans were hoping to see an offensive outburst with new offensive coordinator Brent Pease pulling the strings, they were sorely disappointed in the first few minutes.
The passing game was short and out of sync on the first few drives.
That changed in a hurry when sophomore quarterback Jacoby Brissett got the matchup he wanted. Freshman wide receiver Latroy Pittman matched up one-on-one with a walk-on defensive back on the left sideline.
“I mean, big third down, I needed a completion just to get the drive back going,” Brissett said. “One-on-one coverage, and I had faith that he would beat his man off press coverage.”
