ShareElam, Gillislee are award semifinalists
Two Florida Gators football players were named semifinalists for national postseason awards on Monday.
Junior safety Matt Elam made the semifinalist cut for the Chuck Bednarik Award while senior running back Mike Gillislee is a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award.
A total of 16 semifinalists were named for each award. The lists will be trimmed to three finalists on Nov. 19. Winners will be announced for the awards on Dec. 6 as part of the ESPNU College Football Awards Show.
