ShareDefense improving, still has work to do
JACKSONVILLE — Despite giving up 24 points in a narrow loss to rival Georgia, the Florida defense put together one of its best outings of the season behind improved play in the front seven.
After holding Auburn to 17 points, Florida wasn’t quite able to match that production against Georgia, but it was mostly because the offense gave up two costly turnovers deep in its own territory, putting the defense with its back to the wall.
“I feel like we took another step forward, built on our Auburn game two weeks ago,” defensive tackle Omar Hunter said. “I felt like we did a pretty good job. We came out with a lot of juice. In the second half we did pretty well and then just couldn’t finish.”
