Angry Gator fans, some talk show hosts and even newspaper columnists made it clear they perceived Kirk Herbstreit’s “opinion” about Michigan being more deserving than Florida was, in fact, a campaign against Florida. This was viewed as attempt on his part to knock the Gators out of the No. 2 spot in the BCS polls. A large majority of Florida fans felt he went over the line as an analyst.
