ShareBowl eligibilty beneficial for youth
Sitting at 5-5 with just two games remaining, the Gators are in a precarious position. Their 20-year streak of going to bowl games is in jeopardy.
Florida will face Furman this weekend at home before hosting Florida State just after Thanksgiving.
While the Gators aren’t talking about bowl eligibility, players and coaches alike recognize the benefits making a bowl game provide the team, even in a down year.
“It’s very important. It’s good for the program, good for the school,” senior quarterback John Brantley said. “It lets us keep playing ball longer and to keep practicing longer. It’s just important overall just to be able to go do something, enjoy something like that.”
