GatorCountry.com's David Shepherd is taking a look at each of the Florida football team's 12 opponents in this series leading up to the Gators' home opener on Sept. 1 vs. Bowling Green in The Swamp. In case you missed it, here's An Early Look at Bowling Green. On the second Saturday of the 2012 football season there will be at least two significant games. The University of Georgia will travel to Columbia, Mo., while the Florida Gators will venture over to College Station, Texas, for the Aggies’ first Southeastern Conference game.

The last several years of Aggies football have been mostly mediocre with two 9-4 seasons (2006 and 2010) sprinkled in among mostly seasons around the .500 mark. The Aggies ‘introduction into the SEC in 2012 could be still another year of break-even football, but one thing’s for sure, the Aggies will bring some offensive talent to the league.

In the 2011 season the Aggies finished with a 7-6 record that included a Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas win against Northwestern. Despite the 7-6 mark the Aggies put up strong offensive numbers, ranking in the top 25 nationally in several offensive categories including scoring (11th) with average of 39.1 points per game.
