The Florida Gators had a lot of key targets in the south end zone on Saturday and during the game offensive linemen commit Tyler Jordan (6-5, 270, Jacksonville, FL Bishop Kenny) was doing a lot of recruiting for the Gators.
“I was mostly in the ear of Jalen Merrick during the game,” Jordan said. “I was also talking to Dexter Williams, Daniel Imatorbhebhe and to CeCe [Jefferson] a little a bit. I also was talking to Ray-Ray McCloud.”
When Jordan wasn’t recruiting prospects he was watching the Florida Gators defeat Kentucky and he walked away from the game feeling good about the team and the win.
“They rallied well and responded to Kentucky,” Jordan said. “It was good to see them fight back when their backs were against the wall and at the end of the day a win is a win. We are 1-0 in the SEC East.”
Jordan has been a staple around the football team since he committed last winter and he has watched the team closely and on Saturday he was impressed by both sides of the ball.
“They started out slow but they picked up in the end and threw the ball well,” Jordan said. “The defense performed well for the most part in my opinion. They played really well against the run and they needed a little work on the pass.”
Offensive coordinator Kurt Roper was brought in to fix the Florida Gators offense and Jordan believes he has done exactly that and he’s excited about playing for Roper and the rest of the coaching staff next season.
“I feel like Coach Roper has done a really good job so far of fixing the offense since it was a problem last year,” Jordan said. “I think they are going to continue to getting better and I’m excited to play center for them.”
With everything going well for Florida on the field Jordan says he also believes things are looking up in recruiting and Florida’s best recruiter not on staff believes prospects are just waiting to see a few more things.
“I think recruiting is going well for us,” Jordan said. “I think guys are just waiting to see how the offense continues to do and see how well the season goes but overall it’s going well.”
One thing is for sure. Just like Will Grier last year, it doesn’t matter how UF does on the field this year, Tyler Jordan is coming to Gainesville. I think guys like him, Ivie, Jackson, and Knight are wanting to come to Florida, not for any coach, so if the ax does fall on Muschamp, there’s no need to worry about losing those guys.
I completely agree here. I think you could even add a guy like Sandifer and Horton as well.
