Troy vs. Gators to air live on PPV

GAINESVILLE (August 28, 2007) – The University of Florida and Sun Sports today announced that the September 8 (6:00pm) Troy at Florida college football game will be made available live via pay-per-view (PPV) to viewers of participating cable systems, satellite systems and commercial establishments throughout Florida.

The live PPV airing will be in addition to Sun Sports’ taped presentation of the game airing during the network’s Sunday morning edition of BREAKFAST WITH THE GATORS beginning at 8:30am and again Tuesday night at 11:00pm. David Steele, Nat Moore and Steve Babik will provide the commentary.

Immediately following the PPV presentation of the game, fans can switch to Sun Sports for complete live post-game coverage during the network’s GEICO GATOR POSTGAME show. Reports from Gainesville will also air during Sun Sports’ REC WAREHOUSE COLLEGE KICKOFF (live Friday, Sept. 7,

7:00pm) and the network’s TAILGATE OVERTIME PRESENTED BY AT&T show (live Monday, Sept. 10, 7:00pm).

Per Southeastern Conference television contracts, when an SEC team does not have its game selected by CBS, ESPN or Lincoln Financial, it is permitted to televise that game live on a statewide basis only on pay-per-view. Therefore, Sun Sports cannot air these games live on the network, but can make them available to cable/satellite systems and commercial establishments to deliver via pay-per-view.

The University Athletic Association donates proceeds from the PPV telecasts to the UF Libraries. Since 1992, the UAA has donated approximately $1 million to the UF Libraries and hurricane relief efforts through these telecasts.

Cable/satellite systems offering the game on pay-per-view will designate a channel location, separate from Sun Sports’ channel, for the pay-per-view presentation. Viewers should call/contact their local cable/satellite company for further details. Fans outside Florida can access the game on PPV via ESPN GamePlan.
