Q: “What was the first day like for you?”

A: “Frustrating. I really didn’t know the plays. No one ever went over the plays with me, so I feel like I’ve got to take matters into my own hands and go into the film room to study. But when I get my plays down to where I just know them, I’ll be better.”

Q: “What has this offseason been like for you?”

A: “It was real good. I’ve been working hard, training hard and putting in good work ethic in the weight room. I’m listening to coaches and going to class, but now I have to prove it on the field.”

Q: “Is it more fun for you to be in Gainesville compared to back in high school?”

A: “I’m having a lot of fun here. You get to experience more things here as opposed to the little town I’ve come from. There are better opportunities and facilities here, and I’ve met a bunch of new people. I couldn’t ask for anything better.”

Q: “Is it exciting to know you could be battling for a starting cornerback spot?”

A: “It is exciting for me. When I looked at last year’s team on TV and how they covered, I thought maybe I could go in and compete with everyone. Now I’m doing just that.”

Q: “What are your thoughts on Coach Bedford after one practice?”

A: “He’s a great coach. He likes to get physical, and that’s what I like. He doesn’t like all that open up and running, he likes you to get up and hit somebody.”

Q: “How do you compare a high school practice to this one?”

A: “It isn’t close. High school is slower. In college you run everywhere. If you blink an eye now, you miss something.”
