Thursday was the final day of SEC media days, which meant that Alabama head coach Nick Saban was in Hoover, Alabama. Saban stood at the podium with his usual stern demeanor and gave his thoughts on the upcoming season for the Crimson Tide.

    • Saban noted that the media has only been right four times in 21 seasons at predicting the SEC champion.
    • Playing Texas A&M in the second game of the season after losing to them last season will be difficult according to Saban.
    • Saban called senior linebacker C.J. Mosley a fantastic player and someone who he thinks will step up as a leader on defense.
    • Saban doesn’t think there will ever be a rule against the up-tempo offense.
    • When asked about being compared to Bear Bryant, Saban said that he doesn’t deserve to be compared to him.
    • Saban said that Robert Foster is completing a summer class to enroll in school.
    • Playing 9 SEC games is something Saban wants to see happen to help keep the cross division rivalries alive.
    • Playing neutral site games is something Saban likes because you don’t have to do a home and home situation.
    • Saban called LSU a lot like Alabama in terms of being very physical.
    • Scheduling more than 10 games against real quality opponents is something that Saban said is hard from a financial standpoint.
