Leon Orr cited for two misdemeanors

Florida defensive tackle Leon Orr was given a notice to appear and charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia on Jan. 10 on the University of Florida campus.

According to an arrest report obtained by the Independent Florida Alligator, Orr consented to a police search of a Keys dorm room at 11:30 p.m. and the UPD officer found a “baggy of a green leafy substance, a glass pipe and rolling papers.”

The Alligator reports that Orr consented to the search and admitted the marijuana was his, though the report did not state the reason for the police presence.

Alachua County court records show that Orr’s arraignment has been set for Feb. 8 at 9 a.m. His only previous run in with the law in Gainesville was a second-degree misdemeanor charge for driving with a suspended or revoked license on Feb. 3, 2011.

During the 2010 season, Orr redshirted while recovering from a high school leg injury. He played sparingly as a backup in 2011, recording 10 tackles, a sack, a tackle for a loss and a quarterback hurry.

On Thursday evening, Orr posted the following on his Twitter account, MrLrgJack_44: “At the end of the day a mistake was made , and I’ve learned from it .”

Orr is the eighth player under coach Will Muschamp to be arrested. There have been nine total arrests since Muschamp took over. Three of the players arrested are no longer with the program.
